The first stage of the Cammino Francescano della Marca is an easy route, with few differences in altitude and plenty of water refreshment points.
From Assisi, passing along the slopes of Monte Subasio on cart tracks and asphalted roads amidst olive groves, we reach Spello, a medieval centre of which we can enjoy an enchanting view from above.
Leaving the historic centre of Spello, the route passes under the Roman arch of Porta Consolare, to proceed towards Foligno, a lively town in the Valle Umbra.
