This stage runs uphill on paths that, after crossing the Foligno area, lead to the Colfiorito pass, on the border between Umbria and Marche.
Leaving Foligno, the route runs for a stretch along the bank of the Topino river, with its pleasant pools, small waterfalls and wild birdlife, to cross the village of Scanzano, leading along the Menotre river and skirting its enchanting waterfalls.
From the village of Pale the path continues uphill through the pastures of the Colfiorito plateau until it reaches the pass. From here, it continues to the Colfiorito marsh, a protected area of high naturalistic value, and finally reaches the village.
