Today’s stage follows scenic country roads as far as the road leading to Vascigliano and the Sacro Speco. The route then leaves the paved road and continues first along a cart track and subsequently along a trail with some steep sections, leading to the Speco di Narni. This Franciscan hermitage is a place of peace and silence, conducive to contemplation and tranquillity, where the ancient walls of the small church and the surrounding natural landscape evoke the teachings of Saint Francis. From here, the route descends along woodland trails towards Stroncone.
