The route from Trevi to Poreta Castle should be approached at a slow and steady pace due to its numerous ascents and descents. Along the way, olive groves alternate with open fields, with opportunities to stop in small villages and hermitages. The route then continues towards Spoleto, one of Umbria’s most beautiful towns and one of those most closely associated with the memory of Saint Francis. The landscape is that of the Spoleto Valley, whose beauty deeply impressed Francis.

Not to be missed is the Church of San Salvatore, a UNESCO World Heritage Site located at the entrance to the town.
