Typical dish of the Piediluco tradition, prawns in green sauce are a simple yet highly appreciated starter thanks to their fresh and aromatic flavour.

Strangozzi, popular throughout Umbria, are also known as strozzapreti or umbricelli depending on the area. This pasta variety, very simple to make, has always been part of Umbrian culinary tradition. Meat, fish or vegetable sauces can be used, depending on the locality.

The cuisine of Piediluco preserves a simple yet history-rich recipe: carbonaretti. 

Eel, crucian carp, carp, silverside, pike, perch, sun perch, catfish and tench are the fish that are caught every day in the waters of Lake Trasimeno. One of the typical dishes where the unique and unmistakable taste of lake fish triumphs is the "tegamaccio", a fish soup that takes its name from the terracotta pan in which it is cooked with extra virgin olive oil, tomato sauce, white wine and aromatic herbs.
