From 1 to 31 August, the historic centre of Torgiano, in Umbria, hosts the Agosto Torgianese, a programme of cultural and gastronomic events that animates the village for an entire month. Among the scheduled events, the highlight is the Vinarelli evening, an artistic event with a distinctive format.

The Vinarelli is not a traditional open-air painting session: painters connected to the territory of Torgiano gather in a convivial atmosphere to create their works using wine as a painting medium. The local wine — a defining product of these lands — becomes the means of diluting colours and bringing canvases and sketches to life, weaving together art, territory and wine-making tradition.

The works created during the evening are donated to the organisation, which arranges their sale and directs the proceeds towards social, artistic and cultural initiatives in the area. All events are free admission.
