On Monday 1 June at 8.30 pm, Piazza Filippo Silvestri in Bevagna hosts the Medieval Banquet of the Mercato delle Gaite. This year's edition marks the 800th anniversary of the death of Saint Francis of Assisi, under the title Laudato Sii – In the Time of Brother Francis.

For one evening the square becomes a period setting: lights, sounds and readings drawn from the thirteenth-century Franciscan tradition accompany guests around an authentic menu based on medieval recipes from Umbrian cuisine of the 1200s. Live medieval music and brief dramatic interludes between the tables complete the atmosphere.

The Banquet is open to all with ticket purchase.
