Buonacquisto di Arrone hosts the 18th National Mining Day on May 30 and 31, an event dedicated to discovering the historical and environmental heritage of the Valentino Paparelli Mining Park. The initiative offers opportunities to explore the area’s mining history through activities open to the public, with a focus on local landscapes and traditions. Among the scheduled activities is the discovery of the Valentino Paparelli Mining Park Visitor Centre, located in the former school building of Buonacquisto, designed to tell the story of the mining site and its connection with the local community. Saturday’s programme also includes a historical visit involving students from the G. Fanciulli Comprehensive Institute of Arrone, followed by a free tasting of local products. On Sunday, the programme continues with a guided walking tour of the Valentino Paparelli Mining Park, suitable for all participants and accompanied by a hiking guide. The route leads to the mining area while offering views over Lake Piediluco. At the end of the walk, participants will be able to enjoy a tasting of local products.
