In Perugia, on Saturday 4 July 2026 at 8:00 a.m., the first edition of the Perugia Jazz Half Marathon will take place, a half marathon event that brings together sport, territory and jazz music. The 21.097 km course runs along the Tiber River, starting in Ponte Pattoli and finishing in Ponte San Giovanni, following a flat route immersed in the river landscape. Along the route, jazz music points accompany the runners during the race, creating an experience that combines running and sound.

The event is part of the national calendar of the Italian Athletics Federation (FIDAL) and refers to the local sporting tradition connected to the development of athletics in Perugia since the 1980s. The initiative recalls a period in which athletes and running events contributed to the spread of road running and to the growth of the running community.

The race follows the course of the Tiber through a natural environment characterized by tree-lined sections and river areas. Refreshment points and logistical services are provided along the route. The operational hub of the event is hosted at the Fastweb Padel Arena in Torgiano, where athlete services and race bib distribution take place in the days preceding the competition.
