The stage runs through woodland and sun-exposed stretches as far as the small town of Pietralunga. About 6 kilometres after departure, the route reaches the locality of Il Sasso, a useful stopping point where walkers can replenish their water and food supplies.

The stage runs through woodland and sun-exposed stretches as far as the small town of Pietralunga. About 6 kilometres after departure, the route reaches the locality of Il Sasso, a useful stopping point where walkers can replenish their water and food supplies.

From here, a gradual ascent begins, followed by a descent to Pieve de’ Saddi, an important centre of the early Christianisation of the Upper Tiber Valley and, for centuries, the religious heart of the surrounding mountain area.

The route then continues through a succession of ascents and descents, crossing valleys and fields, with several resting points along the way, until it reaches Pietralunga. The length of the stage can be shortened by stopping at one of the intermediate points.
